Problem Summary: tried system restore ad aware noticed it now all my files vanished....

ad aware picked up a backdoor trojan (can't remember full name of it was on my desktop in notepad but now vanished. something to do with win32.backdoor and dll.exe programs also mentioned. tried to clean said was okay, then google was coming up with www.googlefiii or something random. lot of things not working.

Now can't get to earlier restore point before noticed problem. Did look online and put spyhunter4 on which didn't pick it up and picked up various popupad problems but not the rest, but then asked to register didn't.

Hi, every time I search on google for something like "dog" I'll click on a link on the google search and it will transfer me to another advertising pop up page. So I used Ad-aware and it found Win32.backdoor.agent and now I don't know if thats the only problem or if it just keeps coming back? Help!

Hi!

I regularly check out my PC with AdAware and today it found one infection there. Suspicious file is reboot.exe, it's in C:\Windows\System32 folder (it's about 123kB). AdAware recognized it as Win32.TrojanSpy.Agent spyware. I checked it out with my basic AntiV. tool (NOD32), it didn't found that reboot.exe is suspicious. Also, I checked it out with Spybot-S&D and SuperAntiSpyware and both tools said that it's OK. I already used to remove treats by using mentioned tools and also I used to manually remove treats when NOD32 and the rest of the crew couldn't help. But, this time I am not quite sure if I should remove reboot.exe because I am afraid that it could be important file for my system. Any suggestions?
