Problem Summary: my contacts keep getting emails from me that I am not sending

I have a Mac running 10.6. My contacts keeping getting emails with from: donf23@yahoo.com even though I am not sending them emails from my email address. There appears to to be no subject but in the text portion it has something that ends with tripod.com I believe.

Problem was successfully solved. Ticket was closed.

Problem Summary: Something (a virus?) is generating spam from my email

I have 3 yahoo.com email accounts.

In one of them, I've been noticing a few mail failure messages showing up in my Inbox from MAILER-DEMON@yahoo.com (some also show up in my Spam folder) that tell me that it wasn't able to deliver some messages to certain addresses in my contacts list that have apparently aren't valid anymore.
When I check my Sent Messages folder, there are messages in there that I did not send that were somehow sent out to most or all of the addresses in my contacts list. (Today there were 8 e-mails so far.) When I look at the messages, most seemed to be attached or related to Tripod or Angelfire.
Is this a virus in my e-mail account, or somewhere else on my computer? It appears to be somewhere in this e-mail account, since I don't seem to have this problem with my other 2 yahoo e-mail accounts, or at least much less frequently. Is this something I can fix, or should I just shut down this account and create a new email account?
My computer system - I have a Dell Dimensions Desktop from about 2003, with Windows XP HE operating system. For Virus and other security protection, I have used McAfee for several years and I paid for it thru the end of this year, but something went wrong and McAfee says my protection has expired - I still need to get this resolved with McAfee, but I'm not sure that it affects this problem, since only the one e-mail account seems to be affected. I also run Lavasoft's Ad-Aware about once a week for additional protection.

Examples of e-mails I didn't send, and the mail failure notices that came back (I couldn't figure out how to attach the files directly by browsing, so I copied and pasted them below) -
