Problem Summary: LookSafe Has Hijacked My Search Browser
I suppose I should start from the beginning on how this problem could have came to be. There are two ways this could've come to be:
1.) I downloaded uTorrent to install a video game, and LookSafe was attached to it. But, I've uninstalled uTorrent using IObit Uninstaller.
2.) Around the beginning of April, my stepmom was doing taxes with a friend and they needed my step sister's info for something and she didn't have her computer around to get on her email, so she used mine. Our emails are Yahoo, so she needed to log out of mine to access hers and get the specific info. After doing that, I logged back in, exited the tab, etc. A day or two later, I'm not sure on the time frame, I went to search something (I use Google Chrome) from Google Chrome's Omnibox, where you can search directly from the address bar. It didn't use Google, it used something called LookSafe Yahoo.
So, I went to diagnose it, used a ton of methods, downloaded too many virus removal programs (about five) including my default antivirus, avast!Antivirus (free version). I even called a tech support company at midnight, and they said they could do it, but it would cost money. Well, I'm just a high-school student without a job who can't afford 100 bucks towards fixing my computer. My tech-savvy uncle even tried to fix it: he cleared the browsing history, removed the search engines to use, etc. and it worked for a moment, but then it went back to using LookSafe Yahoo. It tends to do this after I feel like I've fixed it. I just want it off of my computer. I looked in the Program Files (x86) and there's an empty file titled LookSafe Utility, and it won't allow me to attach the file to this message. Help is very much appreciated because I have wasted precious time on this issue! :)
